Dr Lize Andrews completed her Professional Doctorate in Clinical Psychology at the University of Queensland. Her research investigated a cognitive behavioural therapy based friendship skills program for Children with Asperger Syndrome, High Functioning Autism and PDD-NOS, developed by Professor Tony Attwood.

Lize developed expertise in the assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of a wide range of issues in children, adolescents, adults and families. She has a particular interest in the treatment of anxiety disorders throughout the lifespan (including social anxiety, specific phobias, generalised anxiety, obsessive compulsive disorder and trauma), Autism Spectrum Disorders, eating disorders, parenting and relationship education. 

Depending on the individual goals and needs of each client, Lize utilises a range of evidence based treatment modalities, including Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Mindfulness.

Lize is recognised as a Specialist Clinical Psychologists by Medicare Australia and is registered with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA). She is a professional member of the Australian Psychological Society (APS) and belongs to the Australian College of Clinical Psychologists.  In addition, Lize is a registered an accredited Triple P – Positive Parenting Program provider. 

Lize has worked in both public and private settings, including Child and Youth Mental Health Service and Bravehearts, providing assessment and treatment to children and adolescents with severe and complex mental health difficulties, and children and adult survivors of child sexual assault. In addition to counselling disadvantaged job seekers, and equipping them to reach their full potential, Lize gained experience working in the Parenting and Family Support Centre at the University of Queensland, where she provided individual support and co-facilitated Triple P (Positive Parenting Program) groups aimed at providing education to enhance family relationships and equipping parents with positive parenting skills. She has a background working in the disability support sector and has facilitated various group-based interventions for children and adolescents in clinical and school settings.

More recently, Lize has worked as a Clinical Psychologist at Family Challenge Psychology Clinic in Mooloolaba on the Sunshine Coast. In 2013 she volunteered in Cambodia with a team from Family Challenge to provide trauma rehabilitation training to a non-for profit organisation supporting and counselling girls whom have been saved from sex trafficking.
