We are committed to providing accessible and high quality psychological treatment. Our fees are set below those recommended by the Australian Psychological Society (APS).
Do I Need a Referral?
No, you do not need to obtain a referral from your GP to see any of our psychologists. If you do decide to attend without a referral, your session fee will need to be covered by you privately.
Medicare - Better Access to Mental Health Care
All E & A psychologists are registered with Medicare. The Better Access to Mental Health Care initiative provides access to psychology services through Medicare under a Mental Health Treatment Plan.
Although it is not necessary to have a Mental Health Treatment Plan to see a psychologist, this could reduce the cost of treatment. In order to receive a medicare rebate, you will need to be referred by a general practitioner (GP), in the context of a GP Mental Health Treatment Plan, or by a psychiatrist or paediatrician. When making an appointment with your GP for the Mental Health Treatment Plan assessment, it is recommended you request an extended consultation. You do not need a referral from your doctor to see any of our psychologists. However, a referral is needed for you to be able to claim Medicare rebates.
If you receive a Mental Health Treatment Plan from your GP or medical specialist you are entitled to a Medicare rebate for up to 10 sessions in a calendar year (1 January to 31 December).
The GP Mental Health Care Plan expires after 12 months from the date of referral.
Please bring the referral letter and mental health care plan to your initial consultation otherwise you will be unable to receive your rebate from Medicare. On the day of the consultations, you will be required to pay the full fee. You can then either have their rebate claim submitted by our support team online through Medicare Online, or take your receipt to Medicare to claim the rebate.
Private Health Insurance
Many private health funds provide rebates for psychology services. Please contact your private health provider to discuss eligibility requirements before making an appointment.
Other Funding Bodies
Department of Veterans’ Affairs (DVA)
Access to Allied Psychological Services (ATAPS)- Please contact the practice for more information about ATAPS
Helping Children with Autism (HCWA) Package
Can I Cancel My Appointment?
You may cancel (or re-schedule) your appointment at any time. However, cancellations within 24 hours of the appointment will incur a fee of 50% of the usual consultation fee.
Our support team will be more than happy to answer any queries concerning consultation fees and related rebates.
Treatment Duration and Frequency
The duration of treatment depends on many factors including your goals and presenting concerns. Consultations last for 50 minutes and will typically be scheduled on a weekly or fortnightly basis.
