  • Cancellation policy

So we can provide the best support to our community, we ask for advanced notice for cancellations. Please read our full cancellation policy below before cancelling an appointment.

  • Rebates

Clients may be eligible for a referral from a GP or a psychiatrist called a Mental Health Treatment Plan which offers a significant rebate towards our services for up to 10 sessions per calendar year.

After we have processed your payment we can process your rebate for you via our online system. Medicare advises us that these funds will appear in your bank account within 2-3 business days.

  • Payment

The full psychology session fee is due at the time of the appointment by EFTPOS.

If eligible for a Medicare rebate, (often through a Mental Health Treatment Plan), Medicare will rebate a portion of your session fee into your nominated account.

  • Follow-up appointments

It is important you schedule a series of appointments with your psychologist from the beginning. This is to ensure you can access regular treatment sessions, at a day and time that suits you best. In addition, our psychologists will often book 4-6 weeks in advance. Booking sessions in advance avoids disappointment. Follow up sessions are typically booked on a weekly to fortnightly basis.

Cancellation Policy

E&A’s Updated Cancellation Policy

To ensure all clients, and our community have maximum opportunities for treatment, we have a Cancellation Policy. We greatly appreciate your support in providing adequate notice for cancellations in order for us to offer timely treatment to those awaiting care. Please contact us on (07) 5479 3538 or (07) 5357 9108 a minimum of 3 business days prior to your scheduled appointment to avoid a cancellation fee. Cancellation fees apply when an appointment is cancelled with less than 2 full business days’ notice.

Cancellation Fees:

Unfortunately, late cancellations impact 3 parties. You, since your therapy progress is delayed. Another person on our waitlist needing to access treatment, & your psychologist who has set that time aside for you and prepared for your session. *A change to a telehealth appointment (video or telephone) does not attract a cancellation fee. These time periods exclude weekends and public holidays. Please provide the appropriate number of business days’ notice. We settle cancellation fees via direct debit using the card information you provide on our consent form. This information is securely stored in our client management system. Your card information will be used only for cancellation fees unless otherwise arranged. A receipt will be emailed to you once payment has been made.

Emergency or Illness

We understand there may be a time you are unable to make an appointment due to an emergency or illness and need to cancel with less than 24 hours’ notice. If this is the case, please provide appropriate documentation within 2 days of your appointment in order for your situation to be assessed.

The current APS recommended cancellation fees for psychologists are:

  • 0-24 hours’ notice: Full fee

  • 24-48 hours’ notice: 50% of fee

  • 48 hours - 7 days’ notice: 25% of fee
