Dr Stan Steidl
Clinical Psychologist
Dr Stan Steindl is a highly experienced Clinical Psychologist with over 30 years of clinical practice. He is known for his warm, compassionate, and practical approach, helping clients create meaningful and lasting change.
Stan works with individuals aged 16+ across a wide range of presentations, including anxiety, depression, stress, trauma, grief, life transitions, addictive behaviours, and difficulties with anger. He also supports clients with interpersonal challenges and personality disorders. Stan has particular experience in trauma-related work, including with veterans and individuals impacted by accidents and crime. His PhD explored the relationship between PTSD and alcohol dependence in combat-related trauma.
Stan’s approach is integrative and evidence-based, drawing on Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Schema Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), mindfulness, Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT), Motivational Interviewing, and person-centred therapies. He is an experienced trainer and presenter, a member of the Motivational Interviewing Network of Trainers (MINT), and delivers workshops in Motivational Interviewing (MI) and Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT).
Stan also holds an academic role as a Clinical Consultant and Adjunct Associate Professor at the University of Queensland School of Psychology, providing supervision and contributing to postgraduate training.
